This was the first time Epic Games had announced a mystery game in its 2020 giveaway series. ![]() ![]() The gaming platform faced controversy in February when it made the game Pandemic free, as the coronavirus was spreading to countries around the world.Įpic Games then surprised fans on May 7, when instead of revealing which game would be free the following week, it announced that a "mystery game" would become available on May 14. ET, Epic will make one, two, or three games free to download, and Newsweek will keep readers updated with which games are available each week.Įpic Games has given away major games, including Assassin's Creed: Syndicate and Watch Dogs, as well as indie games like The Bridge and A Short Hike.
